I just paid 385.00 cdn to have mine done in black. The shop removed the bumper and stripped all the old paint off. They clearcoted it as well. This is the only proper way to do it or it will only last a short time.

FWIW:

I am looking at doing the same thing. I looked in the yellow pages under automobile detailing and found a couple places. I found that the places that speacialize in bumpers are the cheapest. I also called auto paint places and they just told me they would rape me some to the tune of 5-600.

Average was about 300. Many of the detailers quoted me around 200 and the paint places that spealized in like dent repair and stuff quoted me around 3-400. I found one place that looks really good. I am going this weekend to check out the shop and cars in the lot (good way to see what they do). The are going to sand it down/strip it, then paint it and then clear coat it from 90-140. All they paint is body kits and spoilers and such so I will see whats up. They are cheap but they also speacialize.

If they dont pan out, I am just going to go to a place that does great paint work and pay liek 350 and get it done at a place I know for sure.

Well I guess I will look around a little more. I live in Northern Cali where everything is expensive. Yesterday I hit a diesel tread on my way home . I got one quote today and it was for $600. I may try some of the dent places. Sounds like a lead.

Mystic Teal Metallic shouldn't run more than any other base for the F-body. Its a standard production color... I re-painted my front clip and passenger side for approx 250$ in materials And still had some left over for touch up etc etc.

BTW: You can see sort from the pics in my sig of what it'll look like free of rock chips. I went ahead and painted the entire front a single color. I think it looks pretty sweet.

hopefully i can find a place around here in IL that'll paint it for around 250ish as well...

these front bumpers sure do get messed up pretty easily

mine is Teal as well , but ya from what i was told...as long as its a factory color like, teal, black etc...it should be all the same price...

a friend of mine can get his front end and maybe the hood painted black for $200 by a guy he knows. my friend had his restored Mach 1 painted by him and it looks show quality so i know he does good work. but it sounds like he might be getting the "good-guy discount".

My car is going in the body shop this week to have damage fixed from when the car got hit.
While it's there I'm getting my front end re-painted too... stupid holes in the ground in Kentucky made me scratch it all up. That and my ill-installed billet grille (silly me) made some scratches too.
I think the guy said $300 for the front end.

I paid $60 to have my entire front end repainted and cleared and I didn't even know the guy... that was his going price. I met him in the paint shop because I was going to attempt to do it myself but the damn materials were going to cost me more than $60 so I told him to GO FOR IT! It came out damn nice too!

He has moved though and I don't have his new number

If I couldn't find him to do it I'd expect to pay around $200 most likely.
