Corvette Wheels...
I need some help. I keep getting differant answers on the subject so I'm not sure who's right.
As it stands right now, the only thing left to do to my camaro (apearance wise) is wheels. I have on my baby the stock 16"x8" - 96' "salad shooter" rims. I'm looking at getting the thin 5-spoke 00'-03' C5 corvette wheels. Sounds simple enough, huh? The problem is, I like a nice attention to detail and I want the stock C5 set up, namly, 17"x8.5" in the front and 18"x9.5" in the rear. From what I've heard is that the stock offset on our 4th gen camaros is 56mm on all four corners.
Here's my problem. They say that the stock C5 set up is 56mm in the front (no problem there) but 65mm in the rear?!? Now, I'm not exsactly clear on what offset is and more importantly, I don't know If that will fit my F-Body. I don't want to spend my hard earned money on the wheels and find out that they won't fit. Some people say they will, some say they won't. Can anyone give me the real answer?

Yes, it'll fit. You might have to do a tiny bit of grinding or shaving onto where he wheels mounts up ( not the wheel itself). But its very easy and WILL work. Lots of f-bodies rolling on those C5's. I was going to get them as well, i like the design a lot.
good luck!

unless an aftermarket wheel maker, makes the C5's in 18x8.5
you cant get 18s all around
the rear wheels will not fit on the front.
but on the front, if they still dont fit right, buy a couple of slip on spacers in 1/4" width, and they should fit no problem

"Offset is the distance from the rim's mounting surface to the centerline. This Camaro originally came with 16x8" rims with 0mm offset in the front and a positive 16mm offset for the rear rims. Positive offset means the mounting surface is moved towards the outside (away from the center of the car) of the rim. Negative offset is the opposite."
See this page for more info about offset.

Thanks for all the help guys. After reading killerTA's responce 18" all around would look best anyway. And yes, OynxXtreme, I found an aftermarket place that makes them 18"x9.5" all around. They're a bit pricey but, Won't it be worthit
Kind of a side note... anyone know of someone who can powder-coat wheels???

According to SLP...
The front rims are the same backspace/offset/width as common SS rims. The 17"ers should fit fine on any/all of the 4 corners.
The rears are a little different though. They are 18" of course, same width, but the difference is they have almost an inch more backspacing. This means they will tuck under the car more than the front rims. I think this is where you need hardened studs and a spacer to make it look right.
I have seen cars with 17s front/18s rear, 17s all around, and 18s all around... IMHO the only combo that looks decent is 18s all around, but that does require spacers all around to look right as far as I know. Without spacers the rims look sunken into the wheelwells.
Good luck
