Corvette door handles, can it be done?

Later down the road I plan on shaving the antenna and the retard finger hole on the gas cap to clean things up a little bit, I realized once I did that, the door handles will just look like crap. Putting in some nice flush C5 door handles would really sharpen things up.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea!

I think about anything can be done... just depends on how much $$$ you want to spend

It can be done - I have seen it done, and my buddy is about to finish up everything to have them on his Trans Am. Looks very clean - go for it.

Yeah exactly. I shoulda put in the subject line "for a somewhat reasonable price". I know this would cost a good chunk of change. I was thinking maybe 7-800 bucks or something to get everything right, but I know nothing about body work, so who knows.

For those who need to reminded of what C5 door handles look like....

It only costed him materials and parts. He works for a body shop - and he paints, so, can't really tell you exactly what he has in it.

Useless knowledge: Corvette door handles are the same as the ones on Oldsmobile Aleros and I think some other Olds as well. If you wanted one without a keyhole you could use a rear from a Alero.

Since you are doing shaved antenna, why don't you do shaved keyholes and handles, with the door poppers. That would be sweet.

Shaving the door handles and key holes is hard work. Unless you remold the whole door then the shaved part will just come back and crack. The C5 door handles seem like a better idea to me.
