Converting front from Lt1 to Ls1 style. air ducting question!
ok ok.. i've done searches up the a** and i can't find any info on this. I'm converting my Lt1 ws6 into a Ls1 ws6 front. The guy hasn't sent me the air ducting/air box yet and I need to know from all of you who have done this already:
how well does the Ls1 intake air ducting meet up with the Lt1 throttle body? length... size??
I know the Ls1 has a round mouth and the lt1 has an oval mouth? has this posed a problem? do both throttle bodies sit at the same point in the engine bay? Would the Ls1 ducting meet up properly (enough) for the Lt1 TB? it's a 58mm BBK. would a smooth bellows help me out? I'm just trying to figure out if i'm going to have to buy some kind of other ducting to modify anything. The engine is out of my car at this point also so i can't gauge anything up even. I was also thinking about buying an SLP lid or something for it but then i noticed that there are different aftermarket lids for 98-99 and then 00-02 and i don't know the differences since i'm not really an ls1 person. But since this isn't going on an Ls1 car does it matter which lid i get?
aaarrrr!! so many questions. ANY HELP GUYS WOULD BE GREAT!! I could just see this being like a week wasted and about 12 trips to Menards for various crap. wanna get all my ducks in a row so i have the least amount of down time possible

Re: Converting front from Lt1 to Ls1 style. air ducting question!
There is a thread on here where a guy did it. I know it involved cutting part of the hood and the supports in front of the radiator. He also had to lower the condensor an inch or so. Just read it the other day but not sure which forum. This was done for a stock LT1 hood BTW. It wouldn't be in this forum, probably LT1 ENGINE TECH

OK, I found the thread. Good luck.

Re: Converting front from Lt1 to Ls1 style. air ducting question!
, you would need this part #25147192 , its a airduct for a 96 corvette, has the oval opening for the TB and the round opening for the maf. The maf sets right inside the lid.....and you are set if I am not mistaken if you aren't changing core supports that will do the trick
Re: Converting front from Lt1 to Ls1 style. air ducting question!
well this is all going to be LS1 stuff. including a ws6 hood, so i would imagine an aftermarket lid would fit w/o modifying everything because that guy put all that stuff on an Lt1 car with an Lt hood and everything, the only ls1 stuff he used was the airbox and what not. well i'll just hope everything matches up well enough and then if not, i'll improvise as i always seem to do
