Convertable Top Replacement.

I did a search and could not find anything that covers replacement of the convertable top for do it yourselfers.

Has anyone here done this on a 4th gen camaro?

What problems did you run into, what materials do you need to buy (staples, tack strips, cement, etc)? Any tips?

Is there a tech article anywhere about this especially once of a 4th gen with pictures?

I appriciate any help.

I replaced the top in my Trans Am , but I took the ...imo , easy way out as far as DIY stuff goes . I didnt have the special tools or know how as to how to replace the fabric on my existing top . So , I bought a complete top assembly , frame and all ...off a low mile used 2002 Camaro . I got that for $600 thru Transamcreations . It was fairly straight forward removing the old frame and installing the new one . As you disassemble it , pay attention to where the adjustment points are on the frame . Also , the adjustment points on the side windows . After installed , I spent a day adjusting the top and windows until I got it where it needed to be . I did this 4 years ago , so I dont really remember alot of the specifics , but figured Id mention as replacing the entire top from a used car is MUCH cheaper alternative and still OEM . Im very mechancally inclined , but had no clue about the top . Figuring it out along the way I didnt find to be all that difficult .
