Considering ff75 lights
Considering ff75 lights
Ok, I'm thinking about going with the Hella FF75 lights to replace my lights. I would like to do both the fog and driving lights, but I'm not sure about the driving lights. What do you do about the "bright lights"? Do you guys just order two sets of the driving lights or what? Also, how hard would this be to do myself? I was looking for a website I got off here called the F-body lighting guide or something, but I can't find it.
Re: Considering ff75 lights
I have FF75's in my fog light location but they are the driving light style. Even down that low, they at least equal the output of my normal headlights. As far as worrying about the "brights" id say you can easily light up plenty of road with the FF75's, all youd have to do is simply angle the "brights" up a LITTLE bit more. Eventually, I plan on doing all my lights as FF75's, and replacing my driving light fog lights with the real fog light versions. But thats in the future. As far as how hard it is, I dont think its that tough to put them in as headlights, its how clean and integrated you want them to look that complicates matters. If you search, there have been LOTS of good post on this stuff in the past. Good luck
Re: Considering ff75 lights
It's a simple straight forward install you can do yourself.
To do all lights you would need 3 sets. That's 1 set for the Low's, 1 set for the High's, 1 set for the fog's. All driving lights if desired, or if you can find the fog light pattern for a price that suits you for the fogs, then you can do that. (There is a FF75 fog light and driving light. They are the same housing, etc. Just a different beam pattern).
Heed eagleknight's advice and search on this - there are so many posts with more information than any website contains than you will ever be able to read in a day. Just look for "FF75" in the appearance section.
The website you mentioned is linked to in my signature. I never got to finish it like I had hoped, but there is a link on it to an install page that covers the install sufficiently.

Re: Considering ff75 lights
Quote from my thread back from a year ago when I did this mod
Highly recommend the mod...oncoming drivers don't like it, but I do
All finished. Didn't need to use the dremel at all
All I did was,
-Disconnect battery
-Remove stock lights and brackets
-Loosen the adjustment things on the sides so that the plastic piece slid inward, and they were out of the way completely.
-Cut stock connectors off
-Line up the new lights and drill holes for them in the plastic piece going across the front of the car
-Splice the connections together
-Tighten them in place with longer bolts and use six washers to space the lights downward to clear the plastic piece inside the mounting area
-Reconnect battery
-Adjust lights afterwards
