Is it common for mirrors and roof to not match?
Is it common for mirrors and roof to not match?
I looked at a few LS1 f-bodies the other day, and two that I saw had red mirrors and the black section behind the t-tops. I always thought that they came matching?
I was suspicious because the cars were hacked up in others ways too.

I've got black mirrors and the Ttops with the black section accross.....
Although I've seen body colored mirrors with the Ttops.
There are sooo many different styles for the different years - that whole body color or black thing is difficult to keep track of.

Re: Is it common for mirrors and roof to not match?
From what I've read, 1999 and earlier had black mirrors; 2000 and later had body colored mirrors. I don't remember which cars had the piece behind the t-tops body colored. On my 2000, it's black.
Re: Is it common for mirrors and roof to not match?
Here's a quick rundown of years (I believe these to be correct):
93-02 Camaros: Body Colored Mirrors/Top (Optionally black mirrors, black top for $$$, but only for 93-97 years--possibly only 96, 97 years)
93-95 Camaro Z28: Black Mirrors Black Tops
96-97 Camaro Z28: Black Mirrors Black Top normally (Optionally paint top and mirrors for $$$, but these were seperate options)
96-97 SS: Always monochromatic
98-99 Camaro Z28 and SS: Black Mirrors Black Top (no option for paint)
2000-2002 Camaro Z28 and SS: Painted Mirrors with black top

Re: Is it common for mirrors and roof to not match?
I can say that mine is 95, white w/black mirrors/top w/ t-tops. I have the sticker around and will have to look but I don't believe it was listed as an option on mine.
Re: Is it common for mirrors and roof to not match?
There was an option code in at least 2002 where you could even get an SS with a black C pillar. The RPO code was CC1, but I believe you still had body colored mirrors with this code.

I'm not quite as familiar with the 98-02 years, but in 96-97, there were two option codes for the Z28's that allowed for a monochromatic paint job. I'll have to do a little digging and see what I can turn up!
Daniel
Update: OK the codes are U35 for the mirrors and 10T for the painted top
