COLORED interior dome light

has anyone figured out a good way of making your interior dome lights colored? i once used a high temp lightbulb paint and it burned off because of the heat from that long bulb in the roof. has anyone found anyplace that sells already colored bulbs that don't eventually turn brown or burn up?

i'm specifically looking for blue

I did have a picture of my interior but I can't find it. Its red now. What I did was buy some transparent spray paint, and spray the clear plastic. Worked out great. I've had it like that for about a year now without any fading or any problems. Also you can put as many coats on as you want, which is what makes it darker or lighter. I'll try to find the picture.

how much do those cost? and how much brighter are they?

i've got a little sheet of blue theatrical gell that i used to color the light but its always seemed too dark... and i'd like a reversable method (ie not spray painting) in case it gets old.

for the rear one you just push 2 housings a little more towards each other and push the bulb in. i have this bulb in there for more then half a year and it never moved
for the mirror you just push them in since they have 4 housings (2 at each side of the bulb)
