Clear Corners

Hello, I just have a few questions about these clear corners, that you might be able to help me with.

First, I was just wondering if any of you know where I can buy a 4 piece set of these. I know where I can buy the 2 front ones (replace the orange turn signals) but I can no longer find the place that sells the back ones with it (replaces the red lights on the end side of the car). I seen these on Ebay a while ago but dont know who sells them anymore, if still for sale. Anyone have a link?

Second, how hard are they to install in a 96 Camaro (V6)? Are there any major parts that need to be taken off to install them?

Finally, I was just wondering if any of you have these and are they good quality? I've heard that the chrome discolors after a short period of time and looks really bad.

Thanks in advance,
Dustin

Re: Clear Corners

I say don't change the rear marker lights

They look better in red, since they're right next to the tail lights anyway.

Switching the fronts out are easy. You'll need to get under the front of the car, and remove the plastic shrouds from under the nose to access the back of the bumper cover. You'll have to take the air dam off also so that you can get the shrouds to bend... It'll help a lot with the air dam off - it's too ridgid. Most of those bolts are 10mm, although a handful of them are different, I can't remember if they're 11 or 12.

Anyway, the entire turn signal housing sits on a 'shelf' inside the front end. 2 screws hold each housing. Simple remove and replace from there.

I did mine from the top, i don't know how hard it is on the 93-97 to remove the headlight housing but i would say screw taking the plastic cover from the bottom. I got both of mine done in less than 10 minutes.

Re: Clear Corners

Thanks for the help guys.
Johnny6: have yours dis-colored at all since you got them? I heard that the heat from the bulbs sometimes melts the silver and makes it a brown-ish color. I dont want to buy these and end up having to replace them next year or whatever.
Thanks,
Dustin

Re: Clear Corners

I've had mine for almost a year and they were still brand new, i just installed the black ones a couple of months ago. Just make sure you have the rubber seal for the bulb plug and turn signal because if it rains they will fill up with water and blow your bulbs.

It's not even the same as a 98+ at all. Look at pics of a 93-97 and you'll see the headlight buckets protrude rearward. Taking the headlight housing out of a 93-97 won't get you any better access. You still won't be able to see anything, and you'll have to crank your arm in at odd angles to TRY to feel around.

I had my corners installed in 20 minutes going in from the bottom. My RK Sport clears are still as crisp and clear now as they were new, BTW.

Re: Clear Corners

Are these the turn signals you are referring to? I just put some on my Z as well. There were 3 screws holding mine in place, and were fairly accesible from underneath the car once the air dam was removed. I was thinking about spraying a light layer of VHT on them.
