Post Cleaning engine bay. How do I get the intake clean.

I bought some simple green and am going to use that tomarrow. I wanted to know how to clean my intake to make that look new too though. Its a really dull grey right now. and to get the engine bay wet like Simple greens foaming directions say should I just use a damp cloth?
Thanks

Hey Jeff94z28: I use Blue Magic, sold @ any pepyboys,A-zone etc. store. Cost about $5. and works great. Still working on those springs huh? You'll love 'em when you get them on. Dont forget the PHR to go with it. Enjoy.

what i use is some of the new simple green foam and a brush on the intake. as far as making it look nice, i use some metal polish on the fuel rails.

I just usually get a wet rag and wipe down the engine bay before washing the car everytime. It works well and my engine bay is pretty clean.

i'd like to know this as well. i just fixed (hopefully) my front intake oil leak and the whole front of my engine is covered in old caked up oil. how do you protect the opti during the cleaning process?

Cool

im sure you guys will call me crazy but what i do is take a bucket of water and not exactly dump it on the motor but give it a little heave so the water washes back behind the intake instead of leaking to the front and soaking my opti. ive NEVER had any sort of problems when doing this and ive dont it many many times. i must have one of the good opties

I use Griots engine cleaner & engine gloss on my car and I'm very impressed with the results I've gotten.
Spray on, hose off, job done.
Granted I don't have to deal with an opti, so hosing it off is no problem.
