CIPA (Donnelley) #36500 Auto Dim Mirror
#1
**** (Donnelly) #36500 Auto Dim Mirror
Picked this up at Amazon.com for $175, shipped to my door. Pic supplied from user '3800rs'. Thanks!
You can mod this so the lights come on when you open the door. But this is not featured with the supplied harness. So I ended up making my own.
Connector pinout:
1 - Hot in Run & RAP +12V (typically Yellow when tapping into the radio circuit)
2 - Ground
3 - Not used
4 - Temp Sensor
5 - Temp Sensor
6 - Dome light switch input
7 - Constant +12V (typically Orange when tapping into the radio circuit)
I used Conduct-Tite brand #85337 pins (Pep Boys) for the mirror connector to make the harness; along with 18AWG wire. 20AWG will work as well.
I'm assuming all the F-Body T-Tops have mirrors with dome/map lights on the stock mirror like mine does.
Run the Pin 6 wire to the white wire in the existing harness that runs up the A-pillar. This wire turns on the lights with keyless entry, when the door is open, and when the headlight dimmer switch is On.
All the other wires are self-explanatory. It's a good idea to fuse the power pins (use a 1 amp on each).
Once it's installed, you set the zone you live in (as shown in the user manual) for the compass and it's done. After driving and turning for a short while, the compass automatically calibrates itself.
