Chrome Plating y2k 18" wheels

I have the possibility of picking up a couple of 18" y2k's for cheap, but they are painted and I need them chrome to match my other two. How much does this process cost? Will chromed wheels match my two other chrome rims? Any places in St. Louis that you know of that do this process. Is it worth it?

Thanks,

John

I personally would send all four to be chromed, it could get expensive but i think it'd be worth it. Cheapest place i found was 10.00 an inch.

$10.00/inch, doesn't that add up to a lot? Are we talking $10/inch of the wheel?....or $10/inch over the entire surface area?...unlikely, but expensive either way, no? 18" wheels means $180 a wheel? Am I getting this? What should I look for in a quality place that chromes?....Should I look to send them off, or look for a local place in St. Louis?

Thanks again for your responses,

John

it would probably work out cheaper to buy a set already chromed.

well for 75 shipped on 2 rims, it would probably work out cheaper your way. You are looking at basically 400 to chrome them, plus shipping if you dont go local. so the best part of $500 if you get them chromed locally. For about $550 you can buy 2 brand new 18" chormes from aaarims.com and im sure you can find them cheaper on ebay or something. If it were me i would try and stick with an already chromed rim.
