chrome paint

anyone know where to get some spray-on chrome paint. Like actual chrome paint, not shiny silver. Its for plastic, but I don't want to get crappy stuff that will flake off.

I know its out there. I've heard of it. Specifically for plastics too. You just have to do some sanding, spray adhesive, primer, silver spray paint, then chrome paint and clear. I have everything except the chrome. I'm not talking about ACTUAL chrome, but it looks like it when finished.

Yesterday I was watching Motor Mayhem Month and Funkmaster Flex was on, and he was at the chrome shop. The guy at the chrome shop said there is a new method of spraying on chrome and said there are practically no limits to chroming now, plastic, wood, anything. He even chromed a nerf football, since flex was wroking on Donovan McNabb's Camaro. I'm sure its a new process and probably not too cheap but its out there, and will become more wide spread in the days to come.

Hi!
I know one company that "chroms" everything - plastic wood and else, but there would be a problem because it's in my country in Europe and as I can say they aren't cheap :] but their paintings look great!

I know Krylon makes it, but to get it perfect is near impossible! You really have to have the prep work down to the t, otherwise it will just come out in a shiny silver color! Good luck!

depends on what you want to paint...I sprayed the grille in my hood with chrome spray paint and it worked out well....I painted the frames of my safety glasses and it wasn't shiny at all

the Z28 emblems. Since the chrome ones you buy are not the same size as OEM

yeah - you can get the krylon stuff at walmart. they also have a couple of other good brands of chromes there. i did some picture frames with it a while back... then i went nuts and sprayed a lamp and a candle stand lol... it's fun stuff, but i'm not sure that its the top-notch, high quality stuff that you seem to be looking for. test it out on something else before you do the emblems and good luck.

Doesn't Mr. Franker (Yes, I called you mister!) have "chrome" overlays for the emblems?

<Hijack>Ummm, GoFast908Z doesn't exceed the line limit if your browser is fully maximized at 1600x1200 as the lines won't wrap

If that is a real rule though, why doesn't the site enforce it automagically?</Hijack>

Well, I was wondering if it was a rule or more like a guideline.

If I go to edit my profile, next to the field for my sig is the following text:

Please keep signatures to FIVE lines or LESS!

I'm not fighting or anything but that seems like a guideline. I like the minimalist look of this site especially compared to other online boards where guys put HUGE graphics in their sigs and agree that a sig over 5 lines is a bit much. I'd much rather have sigs eliminated and a javascript flyover come up when you hover the mouse over the persons user name in the left.

Now, is there a rule for hijacking threads?

Is thread jacking against the "rules", or is it just common courtesy not to do so?

So does this chrome in a can actually work well enough to fix a slightly curbed wheel?

I know you can chrome plastic cause a lot of the plastic interior pieces of my 65 are chrome. That being said, i would love to see some pics of this done because that chrome isn't looking as good as once did!

On the wheel with road rash- not sure if this will work on a chrome wheel but I had a polished wheel with some rash on it and I dismounted the tire and smoothed it out with a file and buffed it. Didn't look absoultely perfect but you really had to get on it to tell.
