Black.

If your car sees any amount of street time, road grime, dirt, and oil will make the orange look like ***. Black will conceal the grit and grime.

Not a fan of orange.

i have to agree, i was going to paint mine red to match the intake and the car itself, but for these reasons i went with straight black., to be completely honest you really cant see it anyway though

I have a 383 that's painted orange. I like black much better. The orange will slowly turn black anyway. LOL

The motor I just finished building I painted the block and oil pan black, the heads, timing set cover, and oil pan mounting brackets aluminum, and the intake orange to match the stripes on the car. I like the look.

I like orange but after about 500 miles of street driving the paint looks dirty. With black paint the engine looks 'new' and clean for a longer period of time and grime is much less noticeable. Also, You really won't be able to see most of the block once you have it set in the car.

Funny you posted this, I just bought a can of orange today. My four year old has been trying to convence me into painting my black TA orange because it is "faster". When I said no, he wanted orange stripes, I compromised and said I'd paint the motor...he thought this was a great idea

I would say for my 2 cents...

If it's something that rusts, paint it black. If it doesn't rust, leave it alone.

So are the quarter panels and hood on your sister's Camaro black, and the rest of the panels in their natural color?

lol shutup. Only the underside of the tip of the hood and under the battery tray would be black.
