Did a search and nothing really came up.. also didn't feel like checking all 50 pages of results.. haha

ANYWHO>> i have a 95 camaro. i took all the bolts off holding the thing in place.. it's completely loose, but i can't pry the damn thing out of there. The tape holder/cigarette lighter area keeps smacking into the radio area above it when i try to pull up and the ebrake keeps smacking into it when i try to pull out. DO i have to take the ebrake off? Take the radio area off? OR it seems like the entire back area of the tape holder area can be separated from it.. THere's some weird rubbery grommet or something with a hole in the center holding them together.. but i can't figure out how to pry the bitch off of there. PLEASE HELP.. my car is sitting outside with the center console on the ground as we speak. haha

 

1 bolt in the tape holder
2 bolts in the center console door
1 bolt under the shift plate
take the shift **** off
take the shifter plate off
pull the e-brake so it's straight up
lift the back of the console and after it clears the ebrake pull back and take it all the way out.

 

you can unhook the ebrake cable from the handle and then you can pull it straight up and down. then put the shifter in 2nd and pull back then up should come ut pretty easy. i also found it easier with my seats leaned back to give more room side to side.

whatever you do, dont just pull the ebrake straight up. check www.installuniversity.com and read the shifter install, it will tell you (with pictures) the best way to move the ebrake straight up.
