hey all,

trying to replace center console with a piece that has 1st gear selection.......how do i get the shift knob off the stick in order to remove the center piece and is there an easy way to get the stop removed that prohibits 1st gear selection....this is a 1995 A4 btw. thanks in advance.

It seems to help a little too if you hold down the button when you pull up on the knob - makes it come off a little easier I think. There is a pretty simple solution to the selector stop thing - there is something that describes it on the board here somewhere - I just can't remember where. Maybe search for it in LT1 tech?
