carbon fiber paint?

Awhile back I saw a set of C5 rims dipped in carbon fiber. Looked bad A$$ . My brother and I are building up his s2000 for hot import nights in June and want to get his wheels dipped in this stuff. Any ideas or info on where to find this stuff.

Also this stuff would be a great idea for anyone that wants to get some parts to have that look.

PS his car is not riced out at all so please dont give me any rice comments back. Thanks in advance

I don't know for sure but I think it'd be impossible to paint on a carbon fiber look. I don't see how a paint could produce the checkered carbon fiber look unles you were realy realy good and did a coat of gray and then black in a pattern.

Maybe they heated up a thin sheet of carbon fiber material and melted it over the rim?

Carbon fiber is not a paint or painted on.
It's a fabric(cloth) and in the case of most interiors and probably the wheels it is an applique. Very thin layer of material glued to the dash, or on the wheels glued and covered with clear coat. There are also some appliques that are only photo's of carbon fiber.

Yea, Carbon fiber cant be painted on. It has to be laid on then cured with a resin. Just looking at this post made me think about it, but it would take a large amount of time and an even larger amount of patience to get the carbon cut exactly right and for it to hold while it's curing. Basically I need to see it to figure it out, but it would be a nice mod (very nice mod!!). Post pics if you can.

this is prob off topic but I have seen it done if you have ever watch them put camo on a gun barlle or stock. They lay sheets of the material in the tanks and dip the wheel or gun barlle in it and its coated. They then clear coat the parts. Its pretty cool Ive had it done to a few guns and they where not cheap to have done I could only guess what a set of wheels would cost but I think it would look real good. The price we pay to stand out.
