Can't get much rarer than this: '96 SS convertible in bright teal metallic
Found this for sale. It's the classified find of the year for sure. Only 10 SS convertibles came in this color, 7 were manual, 3 were automatic. Only 68 coupes came in the color.
This one has 30k miles and looks original. It's incredible.
Somebody needs to get it and preserve it. You really can't get much more rare than this as far as factory Camaros go. There's a few B4C and 1LE Camaros that are a bit rarer, but the SSes are of course the most well known and probably a bit more collectible. Only the '98 Sport Gold Metallic SSes are rarer than this color of SS. Only 29 coupes and 7 convertibles were made in gold, but I'd argue Bright Teal Metallic is 100 times better looking.

Don't confuse "rare" with valuable, or collectible. Yes, an SS convertible is worth something, but and obscure paint code doesn't make it worth much more than a more common color. There was a reason that not many in that color were sold back in the day. For every potential buyer that likes that color, there probably is ten others that would say 'nice car- too bad it isn't black, or red...'

You may not, but I'd consider this HIGHLY desirable compared to other '96-'97 color options: bright red, arctic white, black, polo green, and sebring silver. Rarest of them all, and the best looking from my perspective.
I often say "too bad it's red or black and there's a hundred exactly like it".

it's a collectable classic car now, it's almost 16 years old, and a very nice one. and atlest it doesnt have the tape deck, the worst thing someone could do is get it and start modding it, it needs to stay 100% stock

This was important enough to post here, the rest of the stuff I post on the facebook group isn't as important

looks great but I could never get over the 16" ZR1 wheels that were put on the verts....just doesn't look as good as 17's to me.

However, it's an awesome car for a person who likes this color.

I've loved the color since the days of my old 96 Z. If any of the LT1 cars will be worth anything in the future, it's going to be unmolested Firehawks and SS's with unusual options. A 6-speed vert in an oddball color certainly qualifies. Good find, Brangeta. If I was in a better financial situation, I'd be driving the 2 or so hours over there to get that.
