Candy Apple red 4rth gens
This is:
Guess I should have been a little more specific, I forget that GM had a candy apple red( on vettes stock i believe)
Whe i said candy apple I am refering to a two stage paint process where you spray a black or silver base coat then spray a translucent red over the top its looks like red chrome or blod if using a black base coat. There honestly is nothing imho that even comes close to the finish of a true canry paint

I'm starting to get the feeling not many people know what candy apple red is. A candy paint job (the candy in candy apple is not an adjective of the color, but rather to describe the type of paint coat) is not the same as torch red or cayenne red at all.
A candy paint job begins with (traditionally) either a silver or a gold base coat. I suppose you could use white or some other light color, but silver or gold is really the way to go. After the base, the candy coat goes down. This is what gives the paintjob its dominant color. If you're going for candy apple red, you'd use a red candy coat, and whether you want light or dark red decides whether you would use silver or gold base. Silver base gives a lighter finished product, gold base gives a darker finished product.
This is candy red over a silver base.

Candy red over a gold base would look darker. Unfortunately, the site I got that picture from didn't provide a sample of candy red over gold. It would probably look like this candy blood red.

Also these were originally done with Laquer paint, which I don't think is available any more. I personally don't think the "modern" paints look quite as good.
One of my favorite colors is dark burgandy candy apple.
