Can you take the lights COMPLETELY out from behind the HVAC Controls?
I took of the rubber part of the HVAC controls. I really like the way they look, especially since I am about to paint some of my interior panels SIlver
But one thing I don't like..is when they are lit up at night. I think it is VERY UGLY and "tacky"
I was wondering if I could just take the lights out of the HVAC controls for good....is this poosible?
I know how easy it is to take a look, but if someone already has done it, then it would make me feel better about it.
I shouldn't even have messed with the controls in the first place..but now I have to live with it, so help me out on this!!!

Yes, it can be done very easily.
Just pull the panel off, and then take something to pull the bulbs out (there are two). I had to use some duct tape to get them out, they are too small to get a hold of with just your fingers.
But it should cause no problems. You could actually only take one out, and it would cause the other not to light up, because they are on a closed circuit.
