Camaro or Firebird doorpanels??????

Well since I screwed up my camaro door panels I was thinking of switching to Firebird panels for a more custom look what do you guys think? I would need black and the reupolster them red? Does anyone know how they line up. I have a vert so everyone would have a good view of them.

I've heard a few people say they won't fit.

Here is an example...

xxsaint69x just put a set in his car though.

Here is the thread .

In the thread, he says they fit with a little modification...

Well, I can tell you they will hang perfectly on the door panel. However, NONE of the stock bolts/screws line up proplerly. Since these are vital to keeping the door panel in place when you like close the door, this is very important You will need to make spacers and also cut out pieces of your Camaro door frame itself and install the necessary "clips" in the proper places in order to get a good solid screw point for the Firebird/Trans Am door panels.

Here are some pics of a TA panel on a Camaro. Fits good via the stock plastic "clips".

However, look here at this white plastic piece where there is supposed to be a screw hole behind it. You'll notice there is nothing but a gap and then fiberglass. The place where the screw goes through the TA door panel is in the upper right corner of the picture.

And here is another... no place for the screw to go...

This compares the two panels...

This shows how the TA panel mates up to the dash...

As you can see, it looks good but it is not a direct replacement. It'll require a bit of custom fabbing to mount the important screws.

I think it would deffinately be worth it to have the monsoon style firebird interior. if you can get it, take it all and replace all the interior.
