I was wondering if you had any info on convertible cars, something that was not discussed in the 4th gen history thread. More specifically, when did they first appear for each generation. I don't recall I have ever seen a 2nd gen convertible and was wondering if there ever were any.

There have been a couple of custom fabricated second generation F-bodies but none that came from the factory that way.

 

I don't know anything specific about the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen cars, just the 4th gens. I never really gave any thought to doing a write-up on the convertibles, but it sounds like a good idea.

As far as 4th gens are concerned, the convertible was first an option in 1994. I believe late 1994.

 

Well, I was just curious, thats all. I read through your 4th gen history topic about 3 times all the way through and didnt recall anything about convertibles.

I need to add a lot of material to that topic, but I've been really busy. Most of all, I still haven't found a new fulltime job, so the 4th gen history updates went very low on my priority list. Hopefully I'll be able to add some stuff in April.

You know what's funny? Before you made this topic, I had no idea my name looked like it had TA in it. I wonder if some people think I own a Burnt oRANGE Trans Am?
