c6 seats in a 4th gen?

i really find the stock seats to be unsupportive, especially with leather. i dig the C6 seats and reviews say they are great. will they fit on a 4th gens rails? i think they are even heated. i could just wire that into the fuse box and mount a switch right?

Sure you could.

The rails may not match up 100% but it wouldn't be a huge job to make them.

The cost for me would be the main factor.......C6 seats will likely be major expensive.

Exactly, I bet C6 seats would probably be close to 1k for awhile. If you want some good direct bolt in seats, just get some TA's.

about $1000 huh? id like to think thats At least for the pair, but knowing oem prices, thats probaly a piece. time to start poaching the yards. maybe someone will wrap into a pole as they pull out of the dealership. anyway, are trans am seats that much better? never had the chance to feel them while actually getting on it in someone elses car.

Per seat. I lucked out on the 2004 Viper Seats I picked up for my TA for my interior project this winter for $800, they retail for $1600 per seat...

No . I got a set of leathers from a 2002 WS6 and put them in my 95Camaro. They look great in the car, but after about 20 minutes of driving, same problem, no support, you tend to slip and slide on the pleather. Luckily I got mine for free and they are for sale so I can get dome FLowfits. The TA seats weigh a ton also.

Just get some aftermarket seats. They will cost you less, be way more supportive and shave some weight while your at it. Not to mention they look bitchin.

You can get some nice leather-bound Corbeau's for cheaper.

Yeah, going aftermarket definently seems to be the wisest choice Too bad, thought it'd be bad *** to have the newest vette seats in it.

I just got some spy shots of the new Z06 (yellow) if anyone hasn't seen it yet and wants them. Pretty damn cool car.

Re: c6 seats in a 4th gen?

there are ways to modify the Firebird seats to be more supportive, basically remove the cloth and padding, bend and modify the frame and re-cover with the factory covering; works great, tightens up the hip and side boulsters HUGELY. I've done it to a buddies car, and will be doing it to mine this winter.

Adding the heated feature isn't hard when the seats are apart, done that mod quite a few times.

Interesting i may try doing that with my TA seats. How much do you bend them? Quite a bit? Also i was planning on installing new covers on my TA seats. How hard is this? Is it something a Novice can do with a little time put into it?

Re: c6 seats in a 4th gen?

The backs are easier than the bottoms. The back you basically just unzip, pull the cover up and bend the frame, although be careful how much you bend it or you may break it and need it welded. We did it as a trial and error with the backs, took us like 3 times before we got it where he wanted them, and they are nice and hold you in quite well with std seatbelts, and almost like a race seat with 5pts.

The bottoms are a little more difficult I believe I haven't done them yet in the bird, but have on mustangs. Those (the mustang ones) require some crimp rings and the special crimp tool. If you are already re-covering the bottoms it should be wasy to figure out what to bend.

Re: c6 seats in a 4th gen?

I was with a guy when he was doing this on his 93 camaro - took a bit of time, he spent a day doing the front seats, but when they were done they were much more impressive and gripped well. Also added heating elements as well. Not bad for a day's work...

Personally I'd also like to mod camaro seats to get a 5pt harness through the back, but havent figure that out... yet.

Re: c6 seats in a 4th gen?

Has or does any one know of any one that put C5 seats in their 4th gen? I've thought about this after sitting/driving my dad's vette. I have also played with the idea of removing my rear seats, so I'd only need two new seats.
