C5 Panel Update

Look here for pics over the next few days. If the Sun, Moon, and Earth are properly aligned, things will happen this week. Should have the plug and flange photos tommorow, waxed and pva sealed on Monday, Gelcoat and skincoat of glass on Tuesday(on the mold), reinforcement on Wednesday, and then I have to build a jig for the mold to sit on, and then, well, thatd be it, PARTS follow. The photos will be shown as a lesson in what it takes to build custom parts, don't ask about prices as this is not the proper place for it.

Thanks for the support and patience
Patrick

Yeah, thanks for the support Redbird, j/k, yeah if you have a pontiac, you might not like this idea. Look at it this way, at least this post doesn't say "LAMBO DOORS."

look forward to seeing this part come through, I'm not envious of the work your putting in, I've built some parts, it's time consuming for sure

OK I've obviously been living under a rock or something. Someone please enlighten me on what the heck you're referring to here.

Aaah, got it. I'd like to see some pics then. I remember back in the 90's when dudes were doin' that roll pan thing on trucks with Vette lamps. Personally didn't really care for them on trucks but I'll be anxiously waiting to see what they look like on a 4th gen.

If this doesn't work, let me know.

I have all the photos in there thus far. The last 3 show the construction of the part flange. Basically, the plug is complete and polished. The cardboard that is covered with foil is the flange which allows the parts to be trimmed to fit and what not. I need to finish off the holes in the buckets, and finish surfacing the flange with foil, after that wax, pva, gelcoat, and glass. One step at a time, but we are getting there. I expect to get it in gelcoat and glass either tommorow or Tuesday.
