Brent's rear reflective inserts?

I just got mine in the mail (they look awesome, thanks Brent!) and on his install page it says not to use water due to the different adhesive then on the regular inserts. My question is for those of you who have installed these and maybe Brent himself know what to use instead of water?

If he's got an install page...I'd just follow it. And use whatever it says to use.

I was reading the install page and it doesnt say to use anything. It has a warning to not use water with the reflective vinyl. Other than that it doesnt mention anything else.

The engineering reflective vinyl uses "Place-Rite repositionable adhesive". This means you are "supposed" to be able to move the decal (prior to pushing it "hard" in place!) if you don't get it just right the first time. However, I wouldn't bank on being able to move it so just line it up good and starting at one end, gently lay it in the indentations. Then rub it good and it'll really stick for you! You should do this because I have recently found out that Avery doesn't recommend using water when installing their vinyl with this adhesive. It makes for a more difficult install but will ensure the decals stick and stick GOOD!

Thank you very very much Brent. So I take it the surface needs to be dry? Clean the area well and then carefully place them on. I really appreaciate the help and love the vinyl decals. To avoid confusion in the future you should probably add that on the install page. Thanks again.

Clean the area well with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or a rag and let it dry well (just the area to be covered)

Using water with these works fine 99% of the time. I've had a handful of people tell me that their reflectives didn't stick too well. After doing some research, I found out that a water aided install is not recommended for this type adhesive. After finding this out, I have updated my install page accordingly to try avoid the 1% of problems

Thanks!

I'll tell you, that R was difficult to install!! I kinda got it crooked, I tried to move it a little and now it looks ok. But, the reflective portion of the tape stayed where it stuck the first time. Now part of my R isn't reflective. Anyway, I wouldn't try to move em. If you're a mm off, live with it... lol

I bought SS wheel centers, the caliper Camaro SS and the Camaro inlay for the rear from Brent and they all look superb. I think I would like to inlay my front with Camaro, but I don't see that for sale.

If you order one, remind me about your "R" and I'll throw in another one of those for ya!
