Body difference
Is there any difference in the body between 1967,1968,and 1969 Camaros? Is there any difference in the body between SS, Z28, RS?
Another question id like to clarify... for a Camaro to be an SS or Z28 it had to have been manufactured that way, right? You cant just buy an RS and upgrade the options and add an SS tag to it, right? How often do you see cars like this and are these fake SS refered to as "clones"?

Re: Body difference
Depends on what you mean by "body". The 67 & 68 are very similar with only minor styling changes. The 69 has far more body changes, but is still close enough to be considered a 1st Gen.
There is no basic differences between the SS, RS & Z28. Only add on's, like decals, hood scopes, stripes, etc. What legally makes a car one or the other is the Manufactures RPO Codes.
And yes there are many "Clones". So make sure you get corroborating paper work that proves it is what it claims to be.

Re: Body difference
The VIN will determine what options it had from the factory. That is what determines it as a SS, Z28, or RS. They also has combinations of the SS and RS. The Z28's were top dogs back then. The differences between the three were not much. Some of the basic ones are the 67 had no marker lights, the 68 had square ones and the 69 had rectangular ones. The tail lights were also changed up from year to year along with the front grill. Some had the option of hide away head lights and of course engine differences. There are options on just about every car made and the VIN will always tell the true story.

Re: Body difference
some crap i've picked up on
'67 has smoker's windows on the doors.. 68 and 69 do not.
tail-lights on a 67 are one huge rectangle. 68's are split in two, 69's are split in three. (small bars separating)
69's have foglight turn signal things, whatever they are, big circles under the front grille
then of course the stuff other people have mentioned
