BMR Polished Radiator Cover

I just noticed bmr put out a polished stainless radiator cover. Cheaper than the polished aluminum one from mba.

Does anyone have the bmr? Hows the quality and fit? http://www.bmrfabrication.com/accessories.htm

Thanks, Scott

n2oblkz, That is a clean engine compartment looks great.

I noticed your fuel lines are not in the stock area along driver side fender area where did you move them to?

Also where did you get your valve covers from and did you have any fitment problems with your alternator?

Thanks, Scott

Re: BMR Polished Radiator Cover

Thanks for the comments guys. I replaced the stock fuel lines from the hard lines underneath the car to the fuel rails with braided -6AN lines. I ran them in the stock locations but I drilled two holes in the wheel well underneath the master cylinder and then ran the over it and to the rail. I used the fittings from Pure Choice Motorsports (www.purechoicemotorsports.com) and they made the install really pretty easy.

The valve covers I got from www.performancechrome.com. They were really nice pieces for the money and they dropped right on and had no fitment problems. They have the cut-out fo rthe alternator.

Re: BMR Polished Radiator Cover

The valve covers that I bought are part number 6034-1 and are $99.95. If you go into the valve covers and then follow the options into the SBC centerbolt and to the Performance Chrome, they are the second from the top.

Thanks for the response n2oblkz, I appreciate it!
I'll have to check into the valve covers the stockers just don't look good.

I see there they make a lt1 kit for the fuel lines. Do you happen to remember the part numbers for the lines and fittings?

Thanks, Scott

I did not use their line kit. I bought some -6AN braided hose froma local speed shop and cut it to length myself and installed the ends. I then used their part #5800 on both the fuel rail and the hard lines on the bottom. Part #5800 is supposedly used for the fuel rail only but they worked well on the hard lines under the car for me also. I just used some really fine sandpaper and steel wool to polish the lines to get the fittings to slide on easier. I then just connected the braided lines and tightened. I think that they told me that they sold fittings that would fit the hard lines under the car but they were more expensive if I remember right. I know that the kit that they show for the LT1 with the 24" lines will not work because that will be too short. But, if you give them a call, they may be able ot make some longer for you, I don't know. Good luck, if you need anything else, let me know.

Woah! That engine bay is emaculate. Show car quality... I am going to have my engine bay painted since the motor is already out. Plus the car was originally blue and it is now black. Hope mine turns out as clean looking.

Re: BMR Polished Radiator Cover

What did you do to prep that engine bay for paint? I am using semi gloss black and it turned out great on the hood stops, and the front bar area where your windshield washer fluid goes. Did you remove the ecu, all the fuse boxes etc in the engine bay to have it painted? I already have my engine out, but it still looks like a pain in the butt. How did you disconnect the AC system from the car in order to paint around it?

Re: BMR Polished Radiator Cover

Thanks again for the complements guys. Silvershark, I didn't paint my engine bay. That is the factory crap paint. I just use a lot of cleaner and Armor All on it to keep it looking good.
