I just had the idea and was wondering what you guys thought. Take some Y2K's and powdercoat them black or gunmetal. Would it look better with a polished lip or all black. My car is B.Purple which for those who don't know is a deep grape like purple with a slight (very) blue tint in the sun. Just an idea to throw around. I think it might look awesome give me some feedback.

Gunmetal will a polished lip would look great in my opinion. I don't think black would look that good on those wheels.

I think those black rims with the silver outer ring are the hottest thing right now.

What did it run you do have them painted black? I just have the stock chrome 5 spokes from '99 and I was thinking of painting them black.

Thx! Actually my wife and I painted them ourselves in December. However, the paint is starting to chip now. I'm going to get them powdercoated and get the lip machined in a couple months or so.

I personally like the black Y2K rims...But thats JMO.

 

I'd vote for gunmetal over black, but I think both could look pretty good. I'm planning on doing the same thing with ROH ZR6s

 

I think it would look badass, especially on a purple car...my buddy had powercoated zr1's on his 93z and it looked pretty stealth/good
