I'm trying to picture how some black ghost flames would look on my polo green Z28. I'm doing a black and polished aluminum/silver color scheme and I've always thought ghost flames looked good, as long as they're subtle.

What about black ghost flames with a hint of silver lining?

Possibly. I'd have to see it in person. No offense, but I'm not a fan of people doing appearance mods to a green colored car. Some people can do it right, but it's hard to make things match up and look good with green.
