Big Thumbs Up For US Exotics

I received my hood today from Roger at US Exotics. It is a very nice piece. The seams are just as good if not better than the GM hood.

He was the only person that made a SS type hood with more clearance through the cowl. My car has an old school SBC with a carb, so I needed an extra 2-3" of clearance and this hood works perfectly.

Here are some pics to check out for those that are interested contact Roger at USEXOTICSLTD@aol.com

I'm not digging the hood too much, but good info about another company we might buy from. btw, I bet the hood looks good on a fast car.....thats why I wouldn't put it on mine.

The game changes with a big block, especially motor mount location and firewall clearance. You also need to have custom haders made and have to run a tubular k-member. All in all I wasn't comfortable with the big block idea so I went SBC.

I went for a motor plate personally even though the motor mounts line right upwith an SBC. You have to cut the cowl out to clear for the carb, which then requires your hood to be taller in the cowl. That is why this hood is so bad ***, it fits perfectly but is race functional.

As soon as I get the motor back in the car I will post some pics.

Looks good! I think it will look even better if atfter you paint the hood you put a "fake" screen in there. the only thing I don't like about those type hoods is it is usually obvious the front ram air portion is a "brick wall" But, if you paint that area black and stick a fake screen in there or something it looks much better IMO

The front of this hood actually has a screen in it, hence the functional part of my earlier post

Ahh... looked like fiberglass to me and the part where you talked about functional seemed to be related to the cowl portion so I thought the functional part was related to the cowl induction part
