better LT1 T/A headlights?

i browsed around a bit and couldnt find anything, i wanted some brighter headlights (and/or foglights). is there a conversion or something, i dont want to just stick hi-watt bulbs in there it wasnt meant to have. in all honesty i kinda wanted those real bright clear lights european cars have like BMWs. ive seen some camaros and other cars either the lens was tinted with something, or they had these cheesy blueish lights for like $50 that did nothing much.

Sylvania Silverstars are a much whiter beam than regular halogens and come in our size lights. There are also a few places that make headlight housings that use changable bulbs, instead of having to replace the whole light, such as: http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts....rtfamilyid/629
I believe our lights are 4"X6" someone correct me if I am wrong. These are what I plan on getting, especially since changing my foglights today.

As far as foglights go, if you use a bulb with ANY higher wattage than the factory bulbs in the factory foglight housing, it will melt. (just found this out ) I bought some 4" Hyperwhite 55W foglights from Pepboys to use in place of the old foglights and they are brighter than my headlights! (<- reason for wanting to go to different headlights) This took some creative modding to the factory mounting brackets and splicing of the factory wiring for them to fit, but it was worth it IMO.

Give him a call or email. He sells a kit from Hella that comes with new housings that aren't sealed. I bought the Xenon 80/100 +100 bulbs that they are great. If you think your lights suck now wait until you do these and go for a night drive. The kit ranges from like $95-120 depending on which bulbs you pick. The kit comes with a wiring adapter and all. Really nice and much better than any other options that I've seen in person. Give Dave a call and he'll help you out. He is very helpful and will answer all of your questions.
Good luck

For my 97 T/A I bought a set of 4 Hella headlights from a place in GA that used to advertise in AUTOWEEK mag. They used 100 watt H-4 bulbs that plug in. They didn't burn out in in 2.5 years. They're much brighter and have a great pattern to them. Find a parts store that sells Hella and you'll be in heaven. They cost about $140 for the 4.

What had melted was the actual foglight housing where the light threads into the housing. I had replaced the WHOLE foglight itself, housing and everything but had to do some mods to the factory mounting bracket and the bracket that came with the new lights. Now I just need to replace my driver's side headlight gear so the lights won't pop up with the fogs on.

about the only thing most people can do is just replace the sealed beam units with a H4 replaceable bulb style.

That what mine are currently with 90/110W bulbs and they work pretty good...

Although my new ones I'm working on now should blow them outta the water...

Quad Bi-xenon HID W/ new un-released 50W Phillips D2S Bulbs...

2 Bi-Xenon projectors in each headlight... 4 low-beams, 4 highbeams...

so i saw 2 people mention this company hella, and it isnt the first time ive heard the name so maybe i'll go with them. i just admire the lights newer BMWs have they are so wierd to stare at while driving.

i think first ill try to find a setup with the foglights thats brighter then the normal lights, that doesnt melt or anything, then ill do the headlights. my lights are actually in good shape as far as life and adjustment, but its like when i have the hi beams on my friend's brand new truck is still way brighter and wider pattern without hi beams. we joke that its always daytime directly in front of his truck no matter what time of day, i want lights like that

I would try and stay around 5000k or 6000k, but here is one example:

Usually you can pick up a H4 kit on ebay for around $275 - $300 so keep your eyes open.

Sorry. I traded in my 97 for the 02 and had forgotten it had only 2. I got the 2 CB082462 Hella 200mm direct replacement headlights from a store in 9/99 called PLR Group in GA for $124.

the 4200K HID bulbs have actually been proven to light up the road better than the higher K bulbs...
