Best looking aftermarket LT1 Camaro hood
Did a search but didn't really find anything. I have been in the LS1 scene for quite a while but have had LT1 cars in the past. Looking to buy a red 96 Z28 vert and will want to put a hood on it. I don't know if anything new has come out for the LT1 so I need to ask. What are some of the nicer looking hoods right now ? Thanks!

I haven't found anything new. There are the typical SS knock-offs, cowl, stinger etc..There are also Harwood style, either sloped front or inlet.
Some people love/hate all the styles so just go with what you like.

I happen to think the Harwood cowl hood looks good on an LT1 Z. It's the only one I've seen with a wide cowl- all the other ones have a cowl that's barely wider than the space between the vents on a stock hood.

Love that hood. I got a 95 and want to eventually get a new one. Not too much of a cowl and the cowl has very smooth lines. The difficult part seems to be finding that hood and not have to sell a body part to pay for it.

Last I knew Jegs had the Harwood for our Cars..and it was under $500...not sure about shipping however.
The other part people easily forget is finding a hood that actually fits and follows the lines. Most of the ones I see rarely line up with the fenders, or the corners don't come close to matching.

I bought mine from the local speed shop. It was around 600 bucks, a bit more than Jegs and what not, but I thought it was worth it to be able to see it before I payed for it. I'd hate to pay for it, get it, and then find out it's busted or cracked.
The main reason I got it was that I hit a deer. It very little damage to the car, nose and dented factory hood, but since I was going to put it into the paint shop anyway I bought a LS1 style SS spoiler and the Harwood Hood.
I'd have loved to got a SLP Ultra Z hood, but they are like 300 bucks more than the Harwood.

Harwood looks like the best cowl hood, but it almost seems like it needs a crease down the center to give it a bit of definition. My personal choice for an LT1 car would be the LT SS hood.

FbodyRS96 I like your car alot! Did the shop that your brought the hood to trim the edges of the hood a bit before installing it or is that the way you got it?
