Re: berger panel

How hard is it to do that? Did the finish come out similar to the yellow finish? I have been wanting to do this also. What do you think of my ideas in this thread to go along with that http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363838

Re: berger panel

that should all look awesmoe. i love the 69 z emblems. it was farily easy. pop the hatch, take the two side panels out in the rear, 2 plastic wing nut type things hold the tailights in, 4 bolts for the panel, then slide the panel out and leave the tailights just sit on the top of the weather stripping. i sanded the panel a few times with like 380 or something. then i just wiped it down with naptha and made sure there was no dirt or anything, then sprayed it. i used a gloss black but it is indeed flat for some reason.lol. it actually looks good tho. i wanted gloss cause i thought flat would be bad but its not. also i used like a putty knife and naptha and blow dryer to get the emblem off. that was prolly the hardest part of the whole thing, besides wanting to spray too much too fast cause i wanted it to be done and back on the car.lol, i also brushed in the yellow on "camaro" and it looks good from 10 feet but looks horrible up close.lol. good luck if you do it, it should look awesome. get some pics if you do it.

Re: berger panel

Sounds easy enough. I painted my interior panels with no problem. if i do it i will paint it all and leave it black on the work camaro, then just buy inlays like i have now in silver.

Re: berger panel

How do you think it would come out if I did the same thing, except during the whole process taped the letters (not sand them or paint them flat) to keep them the original red?

Re: berger panel

That could work, but you would have to have some damn good taping skills. black sticking out of red, it would be easy to so some bad angles that could be had with bad taping. Agreed?
