Bent my TTII :(

I was cruising through downtown today after a rainstorm and ran over what appeared to be just a normal rain puddle. It was actually a 5" pothole. It caused the outter lip to crumple in roughly an inch, and now the tire won't hold pressure. Is it at all possible to fix this? Anyone ever had any experience dealing with something like this? Or am I just S.O.L. and need to buy a new one? Thanks in advance.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Just cruising in Seguin and all the sudden i hit one hell of a pothole. It made such a horrible sound and feel. But i looked at the rims and they were fine. It most likely caught the SFC's headers or cut-out.

Either way its a nasty sound and it sucks.

Good luck getting it fixed

happened to my friends mustang...

step 1 : take wheel of car
step 2 : place block of wood on lip
step 3 : bang like hell with hammer till lip back to normal
step 4 : fill tire and throw in pool
step 5 : look for bubbles

no bubbles means good temp fix.

Thanks guys. I was able to bend it back a little with a hammer and block. Tried for about an hour, and there is still a little bit of a bend in the lip. It'll hold at least until I can replace the wheel. Stupid pot holes

It should always work like that, thats why we pay taxes! If our taxes aren't going into makeing our streets drivable then the city/county should pay for any damages to our vehicles that accure from poorly maintained streets! IMO

I'd say it should be covered by the local township or county. Definitely call and ask. Let them worry about paying since it's their fault.

I did actually send a claims form to the city this week. Still no word. But from people I've talked with, it does sound somewhat positive. Thanks for the info guys.

if they dont wanna cough up the cash tell them they are lucky it wasnt your life because of a blowout from the tire and if you hit any other cars theirs too, that should get them thinkin about $300...i really hate when cities cheap out like that, in my town the mayor was up for re-election paved all the roads months before got like 1/4 of them done...he wins the election....all the steam rollers and city workers disappear from sight....funny how that works...aint it? so stick it to them...
