i have seen similar, as well as at the base of the a-pillar, and thqt cap that goes on the side view mirrors. To far from the midrange for my tastes, but if tuned right, why not. The only other downside would be they are baking in the sun.

yeah, i used to have them in the vents in the a pillar but they just didn't fit right so i bought new a pillars and put them where they are now... i was hesitant to drill such a big hole in the dash but luckily it came out to be a flush perfect fit.

Use about a 1.5" (or however big the base of your tweeter is) circle doorknob drill bit and cut the circle above the air vent as pictured. Pull your air vent out to make sure you don't go too far over (there is only one spot that is hollow enough to drill through) If your hole is the right size then the tweeter mount should slide right in and the rim of the tweeter should fit flush to the dash. I ran my wires through the hollow compartment between the glove box and airbag.

I'd be scared to cut into the dash. I've got the mounts on the side view mirror cap.

o believe me, i was. When styrofoam (spelling??) started flying everywhere i thought to myself.."what the hell am i doing!" .... but luckily it turned out perfect

I wouldn't exactly call that flush, its popping outta the dash. The best place for concealment would be the shark fin where the mirror is.

the rim of the tweeter is sitting flat against the dash. The round, bottom part of the tweeter goes down in the dash about an inch and the rim stops it from pushing on through. Thats as flush as it gets. I never said it was concealed.

ponykiller hook it up with a list of what needed to be change for the swap. i need a list from someone that has done it...along with there experience to see what i could avoid! thanks dude. i am aware of teh tacreations' swap list, but i rather have one from you.
