auto loc shaved door kit....anyone have it?

http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=svpro5

been looking at different kits and at individual parts has anyone used this setup before for their shaved handles?
They have a good name for themselves, but they're a little pricey.

3 bills for a door popper kit?!?! I would rather get an automatic window-down alarm kit for about a third of that.

I've only seen them on a few rides. But before you do it I'd consider a couple things.

First- is this car your daily driver?

And if it is, is it illegal to have shaved door handles in your state?

I've considered doing this to mine because I really do like the look, but the fact that it wouldn't pass inspection has kept my head ground. Mostly because this isn't something like a tint that I can take off. Once you have done it, it's there for a while...

Best of luck with it...I know it'll look good if done right.

If you go to the track, more foten than not they have regulations that say you need a driver's side door handle.

THats strange, because why would someone shave one handle?
Oh wait, I just gave some ricer an idea.

before i had my camaro i had a modified 89 s-10, had more than just the door handles shaved. I would really not reccomend shaved door handles for a daily driver. Not practical at all, expecially when in a hurry. Installation is not hard at all. i know there is someone on this board who has shaved handles on their 4th gen But here are a few things to consider

1. how often do you drive your car?
2. you cant weld onto a fiberglass door (4th gen)
3. dead battery means you are not getting into car
4. If you do install them, you are going to need a safety pull.
5. if you loose your remote, well...good luck
6. not really that custom anymore, every mini-truck out there has it
7. just dont do it. spend that $300 to make you car faster

here is an example, my former truck

Maybe it's just NJ with there two million laws and regulations for everything, but although I do SEE shaved door handles - they are still illegal. My biggest concern would be inspection.

But do take into consideration it can be a pain on a daily driver, if your car is more of a show car I'd consider it.

The reason for it being against the law is the argument that if you were in trouble...idk for example your car being on fire, they wouldn't be able to pull you out as easily I guess.

As always...the government will regulate us to death.

LOL! No the car isn't a daily driver........I'm not really sure what you call it actually......I go on trips with it, but I drive another car usually. Getting ready to do alot of body work and I'm cutting it up a bit, getting rid of that nasty antennae, was thinking about shaving the handles, and I'd like to move the gas filler.......just not sure where I would move it to

So while I'm hacking up some parts and adding on others I thought smoothing out the doors would be nice.......was wondering how well these solinoids and remote worked or if someone had used something that was cheaper that worked just as well............tbehling, what did you use on the S10.......it's doors are alot lighter though......sooo.......don't know if that would be a good comparo

When you said 3 bills, I thought the kit was $18. Don't you mean 3 franklins?

I issue about the legality comes from if you have an accident. If they can not open the door, it makes it harder for them to get to you. Pretty simple concept really. You pretty much lock everyone out of the car.
