Exclamation Appearance Section regulars-let's build The Ideal Camaro - Phase 1 - Body Style

Here's what I think would be cool/what the guidelines are...
A team effort to design and build the ideal 4th Gen Camaro. Sorry 1st-3rd Generations, and sorry to Firebird lovers. I am a Camaro guy. But feel free to start your own build...:cough: copycat...:cough:

We'll do this in various phases, and everyone is encouraged to post their ideas. In the upcoming phases, I will have the hood as a phase, the spoiler, GFX (or the lack thereof), wheels, paint scheme, accent color, and details (tint, badging, fill ins, corners, etc.).

Each will initially be set up in the form of a poll (unless I think of a reason not to do it this way). When the poll reaches a fair limit, or recieves a pretty good sampling of votes (I'll determine when, dependant on the response, and time), then the "winner" for that category will be chosen. The poll will close automatically after 7 days...so each Monday, there will be a new phase (or if it is a landslide on any particular item, then the next phase will begin.

I am not gonna bias this toward my liking, because this is a Team CamaroZ28.com effort, so make it work.

What would be cool is if the admins would sticky each post or something for a week, then we could move on after that or something. But we'll just see how it goes.

So here goes...this weeks poll, what body style are we using? 1993-1997 or 1998-2002.

This is about the appearance only - does not include the performance.
And, what would be the ultimate cap off, is if someone with good Photoshop skills would step up and offer to make this car after it is all done.

For week two - proceed to here:
The Ideal Camaro - Phase 2 - Base Color.

I like 1993-1997 better. All my favorite Z28s happen to be 93-97 (aircop, chucky, camarocasanova...).

I like 98-02 better even if it does look like a catfish.

Edit: Didn't read the appearence only part in that case the 93-97 because it looks more aggressive. (Can we atleast just say it has an ls1 ?)

I partially agree with kcamaro6.

The LS1 body style does look like a fish - but I don't like it better.
I prefer the non fish face kind of Camaro, and since this not at all dependant on powertrain 93-97 is the only way to go.

I say 98+ it looks more modern ( i dont like the geo prizm headlights on the lt1) plus the hood just blends in better especially the SS hood on a LS1, LT1 hoods look a lil out of place, add a stull billet grill, cowl hood or SS hood (with ZL1 graphics) or add hockey stripes, add 18" cragar SS rims (the way they should have come) Nice big 3.5" chrome tips for exhaust and bam...that is the ideal camaro (for me ne way) ( in other words my car )

No neons, no altezza lights, no gfx..no huge spoiler..

go for the LS1 style. I don't like the inset headlights too much! although, putting a black headlight cover over them (if your car is black) does give an interesting look. and then there's the problem with the catfish look of the LS1s... but I'm still swaying toward LS1 for this one.

Thanks for posting and voting everyone!

And don't forget to hit the poll! That is pretty heavily the deciding factor - so if you post - remember to also vote - or it might not count.

I own a 97, but I still voted for a LS1 style car. Stock for stock, the LT1 Z28 looks meaner, but I think you can make a LS1 Z28 look plain nasty...in a good way.

I voted for the LT1 body style, I think it looks much more aggresive.

Don't want this falling out of everyones sight. There's about 4 times as many views as there are votes, whats the deal people? (I know some of those are repeat views probably...but still, all but 36 of 'em?

Okay lets not forget that they are almost the same body exept for the front. Why not do a little modifying in the front clip like instead of the LT1 lights make like a fiberglass piece to go around some circle lights. Brent Franker has them on his website called the P1AA conversion. Then instead of putting blackouts in the front put the clear covers. If you still cant see the idea look at the new C6 at its headlights. Kinda like that. That way We have new a new headlight look. It would look sweet.
