Anyone seen these before?
Anyone seen these before?

Those widebody fenders look awsome
anyone seen em before or know where to get em? The hood and spoiler too if someone knows where to find them. mabey its time to start making some fiberglass fenders and start cutting my hood?
Re: Anyone seen these before?
Man thatpicture is moving around. Last night I was looking at some 2-3 year old threads and I saw that pic I think.
Anyways, Ive seen widebody imports and they fit just fine so without a doubt I'm sure this would fit or can be made to fit. Believe it or not some of the guys here including myself are looking into what it takes to actually make something like this happen (besides cash lol) for our own cars. If I cant make my car look like the car above I'm just going to make a Dick Harrel replica but with the hood shown above.
I know right about now everyone is saying wow this guy is a tard and is full of doggy poo but all I can say is wait because the wheels are in motion.
Only thing stopping me is the fact my car is in the shop getting some other mechanical stuff installed but as soon as it's done it's going to the body shop. Stay tuned. Also how do most people feel about that hood?

I can't say that I really like the hood all together. The front most part looks like a Viper hood, that part I don't mind. The other openings just look too big IMO. As for the rear fenders being wider, I think most can agree that it looks sweet, and I wouldn't mind it for my Z either. Keep us posted on the progress!

Re: Anyone seen these before?
honda hunter please keep me posted on anything u can find
Also the z in the pic doesnt just have rear flares the front has em too.
Im guessing if nobody can find someone who makes these, fiberglass would be the best way to go?
And if i can get my z to look like this i really dont care if it fits in a parking space lol.
Also does anyone know about the wing?

yes, that pic has been going around for a few years now, there's also a yellow one and there are some less radical versions out as well for the LS1 body style camaro. just recently has someone been able to contact AC automotive to get a price, it was around $850 with the current exchange rate for the fenders, that's per fender....so figure about 3300. That's sans shipping across the pond and you would still need the hood and front bumper. FRRAX has a recent thread about it that has the info.
Fitting it to a street car is your problem, they are based on a stock fbody chassis though.

Re: Anyone seen these before?
This is a purpose-built racecar. The front suspension wasn't widened by just using higher offset wheels, the upper and lower control arms were lengthened. Using front wheels with a huge offset will just cause your car to have an oversteer problem. (And not to mention, look ridiculous.) The gaping holes in the hood are designed to be heat extractors for the radiator because the front ground effects cause airflow under the front end to be decreased. (To decrease lift, which keeps the car glued to the track.) The car looks cool from a front quarter view but I don't imagine that trend continues if looked at from a rear quarter view and the huge 4" square gaps from the original fenders to the widebody fenders can be seen. (And possibly the tires through the gaps.) Seeing as how this is a racecar, the team that put it together probably had a nice budget to work with and were able to afford to make the body pieces out of something lightweight but durable like carbon fiber, or at the very least if they made them out of fiberglass they vaccuum-bagged them to have more mass consistency throughout the part to decrease cracks.
Unless somebody were going to invest the money to make something this extreme out of carbon fiber, I'm afraid that the bumps, vibrations, and heat-cycling from weather conditions that an everyday driver see's would leave the owner picking fiberglass fenders up off the highway after about 20,000 miles.

Re: Anyone seen these before?
Good links and info posted. I followed the link and the links in the links but really didnt come up with much more than before. I wanted better pics from better angles. Ill keep digging through the links now that more info has been poisted up to work with. Tommorow I'll have more info on how I plan to go about doing this or if I will even be able to. Keep the good info and critasism rolling. I woul really love for someone to talk me out of trying to do this so I can make a DH car. Also, the car wouldnt have to be as large as the one above. That car was designed for functionality. A scaled down version could be made to keep it from being extreme and maintain the look.
