Anyone make nonfunctional SS hood functional?

Anyone make nonfunctional SS hood functional?

hey
my car came with an SS hood but it is non functional and blocked off
has anyone cut one open to be like factory SS
how can it be done?

Yes, it can be done. Any body shop should be able to do it. I don't know how (if you wanted to open it up yourself) But my friend had his opened by a local shop and rigged up an induction system.

Make sure you put in the water drainage holes as well. Otherwise you will suck in water during the rain. Just go find a stock SS and look underneath the hood, you should see the normal opening the air goes through, and below it will be several smaller holes. these are where the water drains if it gets in the hood. Also helps alot when you wash the car and indavertantly spray some in there, lol.

Inadvertantly? I do it on purpose! When I'm washing the car, I put the hose up to the intake after soaping it down to wash all the crap out of it.

When I first got the car I was a little hesitate to put water in there but after holding the hose up to it then later checking the air cleaner housing, it was completely dry as was the filter.

or how to cut it open with rain holes and all
