Is that even a LT1? It doesn't look like it, accessories look all wrong and the valve covers are HUGE!!!! but then again, the plug wires are coming from the opti area.......
Granted, whatever it is it's heavily modified.....good looking intake.
But no, I have no Idea where that came from

That would be a big block. There was an article a long time ago with that car in it in a mag along with another one. That is not the zl1 car. THe zl1 car was black and had a different intake manifold. This one was built by some guy that was not affiliated with gm if my memory was correct.

Ok, it's a 600hp 510 Camaro (Red 93-97 Camaro with white graphics... F1 GFX)... It's probably a custom fabricated intake, but I want to know how he welded the aluminum/stainless steel so nicely.

here is the article:

Here is another pic (but I need more engine and intake pics):

HOLY SWEET ! !

Thanks man. And thanks for the info too. I'm trying to figure out a good way to weld 304 Stainless Steel tubing without ugly seams or discoloring.

No problem. Glad I could help.

I still think it's a molded piece and not welded... If you zoom in on those photos, you can see the chevy symbol molded to the top of that intake.

Well yeah I see the bowtie, but where the 2 elbows join, that's gotta be welded I think ? I dunno but I guess a special tig welder is required for stainless steel welding.

I am no expert welder but i believe you can weld it than sand down the seems and then buff/polish it so ou can't see them anymore. A friend made a few things out of aluminum over the summer like a master cylinder cover. He welded sides to it, sanded it down till it was perfectly smooth and then buffed it to a shine and you could not see the seems at all. Hope that helps.

Anyway I could get the info you were sent. I have been toying with the idea of cutting and rewelding a intake I have laying around.

Forwarded you the photos and the info. It turns out that it was custom fabricated in the GM Warren Tech Center and there was only one made.
