Anyone ever buy anything off of Tirerack.com?
Well I was going to buy some stuff from tirerack but come to find out their HQ is in my state and that means I would have to pay sales tax so I'm going to see if my friend can cut me a deal.
I bought a set of wheels from them and received them quickly. I can't complain at all. They even provided me with new lug nuts(I did not order), I don't know if that is standard or not. However, I would buy from them again.
I have had only one dealing with them, just last week, and went smoothly and quickly. I work at a used car dealer, and we needed some 17's for a 97 Avenger, the local tire wholesaler wanted $106 ea, tirerack.com wanted $69 ea. We had to pay shipping, but I ordered on Monday night, they were at my door Wed. AM. I am going to order from them in the future!
I've priced several sets of tires trom tirerack.com for different cars over the last couple years. By the time you add mounting/installation, etc., the bottom line cost is about the same for the identical tires at my local tire stores such as Discount Tire. So I end up just going to the local store--no shipping/coordination hassles.
bought new tires for 94 v6 camaro=> happy
tire-rack is an excellent site for both tire comparison and reviews. I upgraded the 225s on a 94 v6 Camaro to 235s and put them on salad shooter rims. I chose Yokahama AVID something-or-other based on comparisons. Felt a little uneasy putting such a foreign sounding name on an american car but did a little research and discovered yokahamas are made in California.
Tire rack was Fast, tires are excellent, was cheaper than anywhere else that I found. They ship UPS and you have to be home to sign I believe.
Will go to tire-rack 1st to do business with in the future.

i just ordered a set of tires sunday (dec. 22nd)
they will be here tommorrow, according to the tracking status
they were 2- 245/45/17's, and 2- 275/40/18's
they were crappy Kuhmo Ecsta MX's, but everyone says this tire is the closest performance tire to the G-force
only paid $660 for all and shipping
i will do business with them again

Only thing is I get no break on tires, so its cheaper to go through tire rack for me. Free installation rules.
Realize you have to pay mounting costs at a lot of tire shops anyway. I did the research between buying from TR and buying from the local guy, and had my 4 KDWS tires drop shipped to a shop they recommended. Saved something like 30 a tire. I'm happy.
yeah i bought a set of kumho ecsta supra 712's from them...
ordered them and rims (from somewhere else) at same time, rims took two weeks tires were there in 3 days...
*alot of people have said stuff about being the same price when you add in all the other factors, but for me living in Zero Beach, Florida, no one around here have even HEARD of Kumho's and then next best thing around here were $200+ per tire...
i got mine $104.00
