Anyone do a Start button for ignition?

Like the Honda S2000's. Anybody do it? I saw someone post a thread on SLP's site, but I'm curious if anyone has pics.

You're not a newbie, so you should know all about the search feature

After a little digging, I found you this resource though.

Cool. I tried to do this before but couldn’t find the starter wire and gave up.

Now I have a project for this weekend.

The button acts the same as your key would if it was turned when you were driving, it won't turn the starter. It will only turn the starter when the car is in park (auto) or when the clutch is depressed (manual).

do you still have to turn your key to the "on" position before hitting the button, cause i am sure its kinda hard to drive with the steering wheels locked

Yeah. And that's exactly how the S2000 works. You wouldn't really want to rely on door locks and windows to keep thieves from firing up your Vantage, would you?

Also, if you install the starter button, the key ignition works just like normal. It's kind of a nifty mod. Sorta rice, but classy.

Im really a begginer when it comes to wiring and the insturctions on the website look a little complicated although Im sure I could figure it out. Has anyone on the board done this already? How hard was it?

Apparently it's easy enough to drink a lot of beer while doing it. All the wires under the guage cluster are colour coded, so the chance of screwing up is low. Just print out that web page, take it with you to the car, and start hacking.

AFAIK, Honda will sell you the starter button alone for about 20$.

You could also go to any electronics store and buy a momentary switch for much less, but it will look bad, and looks is about 90% of this mod.
