anyone cut out the part between the fogs

I took my foglights out, and replaced them with the 1LE grills. I was thinking the other day. The area between the foglights that has the bowtie on it - it might look good if that was one large hole with some grill material behind it. Anyone ever cut that area out?

I've been thinking about doing that myself and the only picture that I've seen is the one off of this person's website.

I think it looks awesome, he has a really clean looking car IMO.

Hmm, it's hard to tell from the pics. It looks good, but is the whole center section cut out?

MMMM a FMIC would look awesome showing behind that area.

Yeah it's all cut out. Somewhere in the description down at the bottom he said he cut it out and replaced it with mesh for better cooling. I just don't know exactly how to attach the mesh to the body. I'm sure if I took the idea to a good body shop they would know. I could probably fabricate some sort of brake cooling around that incoming air as well.

He he he, I am doing this on my custom LS1 front end now, it looks SICK in the photoshop. I am using a classic eggcrate grill to fill the hole, it'll sit a few inches farther back than what you typically see.

Would this actually be functional. Not that i'm trashing the idea, the car looks awesome with the grill cut out, but wouldnt it just kill off the air dam created up there. It would be like removing the plates in a 93-97 firebird or formula. It would look cool, but there would be no increase in flow to the radiator all you would be colling off is your windshelid washer resovoir.

Just a thought.

Mine has been cut out. I wasn't too crazy about doing it, but we decided to mount the intercooler there.

I still have fog lights (though I never use them)
and I covered the opening with the grill off ebay.

Can't really tell unless you get right up next to it, though on close inspection it does look kick ***, even if I do say so myself.

Isn't the crash bumper and stuff like that behind the nose section you want to cut out? What exactly is behind there?

When i see talk of an intercooler, i am pleased. That would be a good place for it. Do you have to take out the washer fluid tank to fit it and its piping?
