Anybody have problems w/Wings West SS spoiler?

I purchased a Wings West spoiler from a distributor off ebay about a year ago. It's the ss spoiler that came on the '98 to '02 camaro ss. I finally had it installed a few months back and it doesn't sit flush with the rest of the hatch. Has anybody else had this problem with aftermarket spoilers or wings. Should I have bought an OEM spoiler? Is it possibly the body shop's fault on the install? I only paid $299 for it thinking I'd save myself some money.

You have to kind of fight with it to make sure it sits flush on both sides.

I had a similar problem at first. One side would fit flush, and the other wouldn't . . . I finally just forced them both in to fit flush.

Hey pu12en12g, was yours a Wings West or another company? I'm thinking about taking it back to the body shop but I don't want to get raped in labor fees. Is there a way I can do this myself? Do I need and special tools, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Just get someone to help you muscle it down, it seems impossible at first, but it has to be exactly right and tight to get it to be flush..

By the way I am not talking about the rear edge of the wing, but the front-facing part of the wing (where it attaches)

Is that the part you are having issues with ?

Oh and POST PICS OF YOUR WHEELS ! ! !

Yeah, if you look at my car from either side or on an angle it looks like it's sitting a little higher than should be. It doesn't sit flush at all even along the quarter panels. Would it go down farther if my friend and I just pushed as hard as possible or do I need to dissasemble it completely then put it back on? I will eventually post pics. I have a digital camera but just been too lazy to get around to it. Thanks for asking though.

I know what your talking about but no I didn't. Like I said earlier a body shop installed it. I wish I was familiar with autobody work. How would I adjust those two bumpers? Can I get to the spoiler buy taking off the interior panels of the hatch?

Oh yea if a bodyshop did it then take it back and tell those fawks to fix it til it's right ! !

Otherwise, just pop the trunk and you will see the little rubber bumper adjuster screws in there.
