Another install (cargo lamp), pics...

I took some time today and decided to install the GM cargo lamp that you would normally find in the convertible 4th gen's. It's surprising that GM did not install these units from the factory on all 4th gen's ? I've owned a bunch of 3rd gen cars (All GTA's and one convertible 92) and every one had a nice cargo lamp, for some strange reason GM only put these in convertibles. After finishing the install you would swear this thing came from the factory, installed. I actually pinned out the wiring harness so It would work just like the factory convertible. Unit powers up when you lift the rear-hatch or open a door. I used a super bright (3x1watt) 3 watt LED rigid loop super white. It looks fantastic in person.

You will need to cut an opening in the rear cargo material, but GM provide a rectangular opening in the metal brace just behind your cut. You will want to measure twice and cut once (like the old saying). I would recommend undercutting just a little to make it snug (you only get once chance).

Good work, I didn't even know the Convertibles had a light back there, heck when I bought my car, the light in the backseat wasn't even working. I didn't know I had that till 6 months later when I hit a bump and it turned on....
