Angel eye headlights

Nice headlight mod for 97 and older Camaros or some others as well. I cant take credit for this myself I found the idea on anther Camaro Forum. The lights were purchased here http://www.brandsport.com/pilt-nv538w.html

Im just going to copy and paste what i put on the other forum then I will post the url in the end

Ok...here ya go. 1st off let me just start off by saying I am not a professional mechanic nor am I saying that this is better then anybody else's way, its just the way I did it.

I chose to bolt to the header instead of putting screws in my bumper, I used the center hole and used nuts that have a lock washer built on to them, Finding black bolts wasn't easy

Again, even though I'm a solider kind of person and I really do not like these quick connects, I didn't like the idea of cutting off my plugs, so i jumped the high and low hots as shown

I ran the grounds together for high/low beams and for the leds and put them as shown on each side here

As far as the interior led wiring, I already had a switch inside the car that runs some leds in the interior and I just ran to that switch. If you have not made a place to run wires into your Camaro, an easy way is to remove the computer (two 10mm bolts I believe) pull the rubber grommet out of the fire wall, take off the tape on the end, snake a new wire through (maybe use a hanger if needed) and pull the wire through from under the dash, tape back up and put the grommet back in. I was a little hesitant the 1st time i did this also but it was really quite simple. I'm sure everyone has there on ways and who knows which is best, this is just mine. Thanks for the interest and good luck.

Here is the final look;

Here is the origin of this mod for me http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?p=152165

Dude. That looks f'in PISSED!

Is there any way you can cover the area around the lenses with a shroud to sort of cover it and make it look a little cleaner? Either way, awesome job!!!

Yeah....gotta work on that. Thinking about either a custom made piece of tinted plexiglass and or custom making something out of ordinary roof flashing. If I come up with something...i will post it.

You could buy some black ABS stock and cut it to dress up the area around the lights. It doesn't look too bad, but I still think I prefer the look of the square headlights.

Also, did the guy use different lights for the highs and lows, or did he buy two sets of the same lights?

These are much much brighter then the factory lights and when I had one side installed the factory lights looked like a dingy yellow compared to how bright white these are. They are blinding. I haven't taken photos of mine in the day yet but here are some photos of another Camaro with them on. As far as the high/lows they are two of the same sets, but they are brighter then the factory highs, just need to point the lows a bit more downward then the highs.

I'm a little surprised, when I first saw them I couldn't believe how much it changed the look of the camaro for the better, but that's just my opinion I guess and to each is own, I think there hot

i have to say im a huge fan. Especially for the price, those look awesome.

I think some ABS trim to tidy them up would make them perfect

nice work!

Well....i browsed the web for a while and couldn't find anything, anymore research will have to be done on your part. What I would do if it were me is call pilot, give them the model number of the lights and ask them. It may be possible because, it's not like a bunch of led's going around its just one or two? that illuminates the whole ring.

Good luck.

PS I just found this after posting this message...its for different lights but shows it probably can be done and theres a picture with the red ring you want its a crappy pic but gives you the idea. http://www.diod.es/halo_color_mod.pdf

I don't know. I just didn't have any day time pics of my car and this guys car was on the forum where i found these lights and someone wanted day pics. my pics are all original...that's all I know.

I'll take a couple day shots of mine tomorrow or Monday.
