Alternative to inserts
Alternative to inserts
I am going to do this and wanted opinions on both the idea and a way to go about it. I want to light it up, maybe a black light as my car is white.
The way I was thinking was this. I will cut out the lettering. Only the flat vertical portion so I leave the actual reccess there to catch the light.
Tkae a piece of glass (maybe plexiglass will work) and paint it black on all but the very top of it where the light will enter and mount it flush against the cutout. Hopefully the black light will catch my white paint. And in the daylight, it will just look black on white. My top is black anyways
Let me know what you guys think and if you have a better way to do it. I love little subtle details that distinguish my car and I think this will work nicely.

Re: Alternative to inserts
Sounds like a good idea. And if you're talking about the berger panel, it's been done before. I can't remember where I've seen it, but there have been a few cars where the "camaro" was cut out and a red (or whatever color) light was placed back there. It looked pretty damned good in my opinion.
Maybe someone here knows where you can find that info. Good luck with yours....

That what I'm talking about. Have naver seen it b4. I don't care that somebody else thought about it first. Is there a kit to buy or do you just have to do it yourself? Anyone know?
