Adding TA side skirts(ground effects) to a firebird?
Has anyone did this to their firebird? I juat bought a set but haven't got them here yet. What exactly do I need to do? I know there are two holes in the front fenders as I have these already since I have fenders on a ta from it. Any help is appreciated!

I'd go with the w68 performance package if it is a firebird or formula.
With the TA ground effects you need to change out the rear bumper to that of a a TA or aftermarket front and rear ground effect to make flow with the side skirts. IMO the w68 ground effects look better than the flat side skirts of the TA because they curve with the lines of the car. I'll see if I can get some pics. Thats what I have on my formula

Is not that hard if you have a friend or know some one that has a T/A ask him to remove one of his side skirts ( Ground Effects ) I had to drive 100 miles to see a T/A that had a missing side skirt a local friend has a 00 T/A but he didn't want to remove any body parts from his car . Just remember that you have to drill 8 holes and once you start drilling holes you can go back.

Hello,
I too am pursuing this same project. I have an 02 Formula and really liked the lookd of the Trans Am. Since the differences between the two are really superficially I decided to make some of the modifications. I have a front bumper on the way and I have the rocker panel spoiers in my possesion. I think it will look just fine without the T/A rear bumper, but I can always do that too in the future.
I need advice on how to do these rocker panels. It looks like I will need to drill and tap or use self tapping screws on the ends inside the wheel wells. That won't be a problem. The realy problem will be drilling holes for all of the clip that are on the thing. How do I ensure they are in the location. Any good ideas on how to make a good template? There are also two bolts at the front ends. I'm not sure what to do with these. Maybe you have to put nuts on from the inside? Any real advice from someone who has insight or experience would help me greatly.

The piece of the skirt that goes on the lip of the fenderwell should use a plastic pin clip instead of using self tapping screws. You can pick them up from the dealership for next to nothing and will look much cleaner.
What are you going to do with your bumper and bumper lights? I am thinking of upgrading my front end to the new body style.I already have the headlight assy's.
