I am looking to add a console between the t-tops. Anyone done this before? Since there is not one made for our cars, is there one out there from another type car that would work? Any suggestions would be great.

A lot of trucks and SUV's have these. Maybe you could find one that kind of fits. If you mod one, take the plastic to an upholstery shop and have them cover it with leather. It will look factory.

 

Someone did this I think last year he used a 3rd gen over head console I think...

It's near impossible to find one to fit. It's something that someone with profesional capibilities needs to manufacture because there's definty a market for them, they coulld probably sell 2,000 in a year. the biggest problem is figuring out how to mount it.

 

How much for it?

 

Oh it was functional alright. I had the display for the Alpine EQ built into it. It was also hinged where it met the windshield and had pins that held it up at the t-top area, sceet little stash spot actually

Pricing... well the other guy has first dibs, but I don't know if I'm even going to get rid of it yet... I'ms till thinking about it

 

I want one that is full length from windshield to the rear dome light. I like the third gen and have heard that they work just fine, however, I dont like the vynal/leather bag thing that hangs from the center of it. I do like the look of the S-10 units that have all the compartments. Also, I want to change the mirror I have to a digital readout for temp and direction with the auto dimming feature. These units are reasonably priced however they do not have interior lights in them. Hence the need for a console that has lights in it. I need to research some more, I will keep you guys posted on the progress.
