Post Acid rain stains on glass

I recently bought a 98 Z with some seriously water stained glass. The diagnosis from the local auto glass shop was acid rain stains. They also said that there was no fix and the glass would need to be replaced.

I tried a lot of things to clean up the glass including rubbing compund, hard water stain remover, steel wool and one of those green scouring pads. None of them did anything to remove the stains.

I searched the net for a fix and came across this product.
I spent a couple hours on the glass yesterday and it looks like new again.

This is the only product that worked for me, so I figured I would share the info in case anyone else has this problem.

It says it is on back order

That is good to know. B/c I have bad spots as well, and the only thing that has touched them is the Zaino glass polish, but it takes A LOT OF EFFORT, and I just don't have patience.

How long did it take you to do your rear glass???? Where else can I get this product??

THANKS for posting this.

I ordered it from that site, via phone, from a guy named Joe last week. He said it was their last one on the shelf. I guess he wasn't kidding.

The manufacturer site is here http://onegrand.com/

I called there and got an answering machine so I called "Top of the line" and luckily they had one in stock.

I think it will be worth waiting for even if you have to back order it.

I noticed you're in Virginia. That's where my car came from. There must be something in the air/rain there. I have never had this problem with any of my previous cars (from Michigan).

The rear glass took about a half hour. The door glass and rear glass cleaned up pretty easily. The t-tops are another story. I still have some faint staining on them. I borrowed an orbital polishing wheel and plan to give that a try very soon.

You're welcome

Cool

I used to detail cars for a living. When the glass was etched with hard water or acid rain, I'd use industrial strength wire wheel acid. I'd spray it on a rag and wipe the windows down (in the shade) and it would almost always remove the minor glass etching.

However, I might have to try this to see how it works on removing wiper scratches
